Department of mathematics.

The students of the Department of Mathematics have an option to major in the two trades - "Mathematics" and "Applied Mathematics and information Science", and they can specialize at one the eight Chairs as follow:

Future career mathematicians for R&D and designing institutes, computing centres, higher educational establishments, colleges and secondary schools are being trained by 23 Doctors and over 40 Candidates of science. There are 20 Doctors and 100 of science among the Department`s graduates.

The broad range of research encompasses problems of fundamental mathematics and applications there of to tasks of physics, economics, biology, petrochemistry, oil refining and ecology.The Department`s scientists maintain scholarly and business ties with their counterparts at the Universities of Marseilles and Lille (France), Bayreuth and Gettingen (Germany), Bloomington, Indiana (U.S.A.).
