Тhe chair of the theory of functions and functional analysis.

The chair of theory of functions and functional analysis was formed in 1972 by corresponding- member of AS USSR Leontyev A. F. Today it is headed by a corresponding- member of RAS Napalkov V. V. The main trend of science activity of the chair is the theory of functions of one and many complex quantities.

The main objects of study are the following problems:

1. expansion of functions in rows exponent and in rows of more general systems, in particular it is proved that each analytical function in convex field D, is expanded in row exponent;
2. study of different classes of functional equations in space of analytical functions, in particular approximation theorems for equations of cancellation are proved, besides criteria of epimorphic mapping of the operators are found.

The chair is closely connected with the Institute of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Science. This connection let the undergraduate students of the chair defend 43 master`s dissertations and 6 theses for a Doctor`s degree. The staff of the chair together with the scientists of Institute of Mathematics form the main body of the school of complex analysis which is famous in Russia and abroad.
