Research and innovations

 In Bashkir State University research is done in 4 scientific areas: natural sciences, technical sciences, social sciences and humanist sciences and in 18 scientific branches. Currently there are 15 scientific schools in the major areas of natural sciences and humanist disciplines.
 
Fundamental research is carried out in close cooperation with Institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
 
There are eight successfully operating Scientific and Educational Centers (SEC), including the SEC for Chemistry (with Institute of Organic Chemistry under the Ufa Scientifiс Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Ufa) and Institute of Chemical Physics Issues (Chernogolovka)); the SEC for Nanomaterials (with Institute of Superplasticity under the Russian Scademy of Sciences); the SEC for Living System Technologies Priority Area (with Institute of Biochemistry and Genetics under the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences) and others.
 
There are six basic academic departments at the University under the leading institutes of the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as BashSU Industrial Park with Centers for Geoinfiormation Systems, Geophysics, Technical Chemistry, Ecology and the Center for Legal and Technical Appraisal.
 
The University is engaged in active cooperation with a lot of manufacturing enterprises of the republic of Bashkortostan, in particular OAO Bashinformsvyaz, OAO Bashneftegeofizika, OAO Salavatnefteorgsintez and others.
 
Scientific activities are an integral constituent part of the process of professional training. Students take part in research and development projects implemented on account of federal budget. Besides, there are educational and scientific complexes functioning on the basis of academic departments and faculties of the University and aimed at developing the latest scientific and technical achievements and introducing them into the educational process.
