Minor Academy of State Administration

In 2009 on the basis of Bashkir State University a Minor Academy of State Administration (MASA) was created. It was opened on the initiative of the Russian Federation President Plenipotentiary Representative in the Volga Federal District Grigory Rapota. The first students of the Academy were 30 students from Republican universities.
 
First educational institutions of the kind aiming at training students in state administration appeared in 2006 in Nizhny Novgorod and Perm, and now they function in all 14 Volga Federal District subjects. Incidentally, 150 MASA students were offered jobs in state administration bodies. Around 500 alumni of Volga Federal District Minor Academy of State Administration were included in the federal staff reserve in 2009.
 
The students will obtain knowledge during two years. On finishing their training they have to take final tests. They might be in the form of public defence of an individual project on urgent issues of the city and region life, demonstration of results and personal achievements in the field of public activities, suggestions for improvement of administration processes, etc.
