The Office was set up on 1 October 2010. The principal aims of the Office are: developing innovation in basic research, pilot and applied studies, commercialising the results of intellectual endeavour of the university’s research teams, staff, students and post-graduates, and ensuring that the innovative structure of the university operates efficiently.
To achieve these aims, the following tasks are being carried out:
  • development of the main directions of scholarly and innovative activities at the university;
  • participation in the formation of a developed innovative structure of the university (small-scale innovative enterprises, technology transfer centre, multiple-access centres etc.);
  •  creation of favourable conditions for commercialising the results of intellectual endeavour of the university’s research teams, staff, students and post-graduates.
Principal activities of the Office:
  • drafting documents that regulate the university’s innovative activities;
  • coordinating the activities of the university’s subdivisions, research teams, staff, students and post-graduates that seek to form an uninterrupted innovative cycle (from basic research, pilot and applied studies to the commercialisation of their results, their practical application);
  • creating databases of the university’s research developments and projects that have an innovative character and commercial prospects;
  • providing organizational, methodological and consulting support for the creation and development of up-to-date forms of the university’s innovative infrastructure (small-scale innovative enterprises, technology transfer centre, multiple-access centres etc.) aimed at commercializing and introducing the results of intellectual endeavour into the real production sector;
  • supervising the activity of the small-scale innovative enterprises, assisting them in developing their business plans, advising them on various issues, including economy and taxation, as well as scientific and technical examination etc;
  • participating in the organization of contests and examinations of research and innovative projects at the university;
  • offering organizational, methodological and technical assistance in preparing grant proposals to the university’s research teams, staff, students and post-graduates.
